A Description of
our
"Paint Jakes" Workshop
Winter 2010

Each individual has a unique style.
When you apply paint to paper,
these characteristics begin to emerge.
Our objective is helping
each student to connect with
this innate energy, to appreciate
it and to explore it through
painting watercolors.
The "Paint Jakes" watercolor
art classes with Ginny ONeil and Tom Menihan, are designed to open up your creative circuitry.
Jakes' long time resident artists
begin
each class with exercises in color experimentation. This approach enhances your unique style of rendering the colors of the spectrum.
After these excercises you'll
choose a subject to paint. During this period Ginny and Tom will be assisting and demonstrating individually.
At the end of the painting session we'll gather to view and discuss our accomplishments. Ginny and Tom can set
you on the path to a new confidence in your art and the assurance to take painting to heart.

Classes include:
Painting materials, instruction, demonstration, and
critique. We'll discuss watercolor media, materials,
techniques, color, and composition.
While we supply student materials for these classes, you may wish to bring your own favorite painting supplies.
